Blog Reader Screensaver
Get this screensaver and, when your computer will go idle, it will kick in and display the RSS feed of your choice. I’ve tried Blog Reader Screensaver with FindMySoft’s news freed and the application worked just fine. After downloading and installing the screensaver, a process that took very little time to complete, I opened the Settings menu and clicked the RSS button. In the Source URLs section I then pasted the feed for FindMySoft, mainly http://www.findmysoft.com/xml/news/software_news.xml.
Clicked OK until I was out of the Settings and waited for the screensaver to kick in. When it did kick in, this is what I saw on my monitor:
A black background – which is nice, I like black. I find it less distracting than other colors.
The latest news article in the bottom right hand corner. By using the up and down arrows I could switch from one article to another without any problem. To read the full article I needed only press F2 and Internet Explorer would launch and display the article. Must be mentioned here that I have Firefox set as the default, so the fact that IE launched instead was a bit of a bother.
The name of the software and the name of the developer in the bottom left hand corner.
A registration reminder in the upper left hand corner that told me I had 7 days left to activate the application. 7 days is how long you can use this application free of charge. Once that trial period is over, you will have to get a license to keep using Blog Reader Screensaver. At the time of writing this, a license will set you back close to $10.
